Q. What if I have bad credit?
A. At First Wholesale we work hard to ensure that our merchants have an equal opportunity to provide their customers with fast, secure, and easy payment options. We are proud to say that we are able to gain acceptance for 98-99% of our applicants.
Q. How do I start processing?

Q. What types of credit/debit cards will I be able to accept?
A. You will be able to accept every major credit card available! This includes: Visa®, MasterCard®, Discover®, American Express®, JCB, PayPal®, and Diner’s Club. You will also be able to accept any debit card with a Visa® or MasterCard® logo, Fleet Cards like WEX and Voyage or WIX/EBT.
Q. How long does it take to receive money in my account once a purchase has been made?
A. Our merchants receive their money in as little as 24 hours with Next Day Funding. With Next Day Funding, you will receive your funds in half the time of traditional processing timelines.
Q. Do I have to change my bank account to get my funds?
A. Nope! We will transfer your funds to your existing checking account using ACH Debits and Credits. Nearly all banks have this capability.
Q. What equipment is right for my business?
A. Certain businesses require different methods of accepting payment, and while some retailers may be perfectly content with a countertop terminal, businesses with technicians out in the field may require mobile payment capabilities. Regardless of your payment processing needs, First Wholesale has you covered with one of the most diverse line of product offerings, allowing for a plethora of payment options.
Q. How does First Wholesale ensure that all of my transactions are secure?
A. All First Wholesale products are compliant with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). We utilize the most advanced security features such as Point-to-Pont Encryption (P2PE), EMV, and tokenization.
Q. What are EMV payments, and how do they affect me?
A. EMV is a new pin and chip-based security standard for payment cards that is set to replace current U.S. magnetic stripe cards. Pin and chip cards, such as EMV, have long been used in the rest of the world, and have been credited with significantly driving down the occurrence of fraud in participating countries.

EMV cards have decreased fraud by as much as 70% since their implementation. EMV cards will only function with EMV-enabled terminals, and PCI compliance has dictated that after October 2015, merchants will be liable for fraud if they choose not to adopt EMV for their payment card processing.

Q. What is PCI compliance?
A. PCI or Payment Card Industry compliance is a set of security standards that are deisnged to ensure that all companies that accept credit card payments maintain a secure environment. This compliance standard has applied to all companies of any size that accept credit card payments since 2007.
Q. Can I use my existing terminal when switching processors?
A. In most cases we are able to migrate your existing terminal over. Exceptions include proprietary equipment that is locked by a previous payment processor, or equipment that is obsolete and/or non-compliant.
Q. Are financing options for payment hardware available?
A. Yes. First Wholesale provides hassle-free payment options for all equipment and hardware. Most of our POS equipment is less than 200.00 and we recommend that you purchase over leasing under most circumstances.
Q. Is this a long-term contract?
A. No, and there is no penalty for early cancellation.
Q. Do I have to purchase equipment from First Wholesale?
A. No, if you own compatible equipment or want to purchase through another source, programming is free-however you will need to send the equipment to us for encryption at your expense. Non-compatible equipment includes equipment that has been locked by a previous payment processor, or equipment that is obsolete and/or non-compliant.
